SugarFlow: The Docu-Series/Trailer from sugarflowthedoc on Vimeo.
"SugarFlow"A term that refers to the income earned by an exotic dancer for her services as a dancer.
“SugarFlow” follows the lives of three exotic dancers at the crossroads and different stages of their careers. Given exclusive access to the private lives of these exotic dancers, the cameras follow as each woman as she deals with the highs and lows of the highly-competitive and often times dangerous strip club-world, personal issues and demons and life “after the club”.
The film will be shot verite, in high definition color. This film will look and feel like the world these ladies live in and experience. The dancers will be filmed and interviewed in their private homes, the workplace (the club) and where ever their often complicated lives take them. Each dancer’s story will be a combination of in-scene and first person voice-over.
This documentary will be the first feature length inside look into the real lives exotic dancers on and off the stage. The content of this film is a mature subject which doesn’t always give the central characters – the dancers - an opportunity to tell their story. Atlanta, Georgia has always been a hotbed for young women looking for opportunity and thus this metropolitan area is known not just for having the best clubs but also the best dancers to see. The film makers goal is to portray these dancers and their world with an unbiased honesty, in their own words.
